How to Plan a Trip to Kyoto with Kids – For a Satisfying Family Experience

 You will find that the Japanese city of Kyoto would be a great place to explore with your kids.  Visit Arashiyama Monkey Park

Kids are always fascinated with animals and they are going to be so excited when you visit the monkey park with them to see the Japanese Macaques up close. Arashoiyama Monkey Park or Iwatayama Monkey Park is located on Iwata Mountain. You’ll have a short and easy hike to reach the peak and, on your way to the top keep your eyes peeled to spot the monkeys swinging from tree to tree or running past you along on among the tall grass.

However, remember to stick to the most important rule of the park, don’t look the monkeys in the eye!

 Enjoy Kyoto City Zoo

Following your lunch, you may choose to visit the popular Kyoto City Zoo which is sure to delight the little ones. At this fine zoo, your kids could admire creatures like tigers, lions, chimpanzees, gorillas, elephants, giraffes, hippos and so on. Here, you will encounter an attractive pond surrounded by pleasant verdant banks. This would be an ideal spot for a leisurely picnic where your kids could also run around and play. You could buy some food for your picnic at the sizable 7-11 store located nearby whilst your partner minds the kids. At this store, you will be able to choose from a wide selection of sandwiches, pastries and rice balls for your family picnic. On the other hand, if you would rather dine at a restaurant, there are several located nearby.

 Admire Kamogawa River  

This is the ideal place for an evening chill with your family. Kamogawa River, also known as the Wild Duck River, is surrounded by grassy banks perfect for a little family picnic. You can also opt to ride a bike around the river while taking in the surroundings and observing the locals relaxing on the banks. Feeling peckish?  Well, pick a restaurant from the many located by the bank and enjoy serene views while you snack on a delicious meal and sip on a cooler.
