1. Hit the roads!

One of the best ways to start exploring Australia is to get on a vehicle and start traversing the long winding open roads. You will get to see the country at your will, and do the things you most want to do at your own pace. In the outback territory and even in parts of Western Australia, you will encounter regular petrol stations and clean-cut roads. Even the remotest towns have will have friendly people, looking to have some nice conversations with you. With some fascinating local sights to explore as well. There are quite a few paths you can take, if you like seaside adventures, take the coastal ocean routes. The north is studded with wildlife and nature reserves. The famous Australian outback routes will take you to the heart and soul of Australia and its native culture. Furthermore, with spectacular backdrops along the way, you will never be bored. All you will require is an international driving licence and a vehicle. And there are plenty to choose from all across the country. Accommodation won't be an issue either. You will come across a range of hotels and camping grounds and accommodation deals to suit all types of budgets.

2. Nature trails

Another way to start discovering Australia is to hit the nature trails. There are hundreds of national reserves and parks all over the country. Many of these offer a lot of custom-made trails in and throughout the major cities of Australia. You can engage yourself in amazing scenery, perhaps some of the most breathtaking in the world. A preference for many visiting parts of NSW is the coastal walk from Bondi to Bronte. This walk will take you right through the beautiful coastline in Sydney and is popular among the locals as well. It's especially lovely in October and November. This is when the scenery is converted into a short sculpture park. The island state of Tasmania is renowned for its natural beauty. It is one of the places with the purest air in the world. You will find many winding tracts from untouched virgin forests to mountainous coastlines. Wilsons Promontory is only four hours away from the south of Melbourne. It allows nature treks into isolated beaches, eucalyptus forests, cavernous mountain trails and rainforest gullies.

3. Guided tours

Australia is massive no question about it and a guided tour might seem like the best way to see the country. But there are definite plus points in exploring the country on your own. For instance, you will be able to depart from the usual crowded tourist centred sites and discover a few rare gems on your own. There are many obscure locations off the beaten path. Encounter majestic sceneries, Australia's unique wildlife living free with nature, and an opportunity to connect with nature in a way never before! And know you won't have to travel far and wide into isolated territories to experience this! For example, the Grampians National Park is only three hours' drive from Melbourne. However, will feel like a world away from civilisation. The region is renowned for its hiking tracks and Indigenous history. The jagged mountains and rugged canyons of South Australia's Flinders Mountain Range is a five-hour drive from Adelaide. But the journey will be well worth it. You will get to discover the 62-mile crater known as Wilpena Pound and perhaps even go glamping at Arkaba Station underneath the starry skies or find some excellent hotel deals along the way.
