How to get around Kuala Lumpur

The cosmopolitan capital of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur offers much to explore for those traversing this bustling city. From sightseeing and shopping to entertainment and foodie delights there is something new to discover around every street corner. Of course, if you want to experience the many attractions in Kuala Lumpur, you should have a good idea of the various transport services on offer; here are some of the main available options.

By Light Rail Transit

Amongst the most popular modes of transport in Kuala Lumpur, the Light Rail Transit or LRT offers an ideal way to get around the city centre. This train service is not only cost-effective but also has stations within easy reach of many key attractions. While it has connections to areas outside the city centre as well, it may not always provide direct access to particular places; in such instances, you can look to take a taxi from the station or if it isn’t too far, walk to your intended destination.

Depending on your itinerary, you can use the KL Monorail to easily access certain sites of interest. This service operates from six in the morning till midnight with monorail trains arriving quite frequently (every five minutes or so) during peak hours.
