How to prepare for a beach vacation

A beach holiday can be pretty relaxing and fun. However, a poorly planned trip can transform it into a complete nightmare. One forgotten item, such as your bathing suit, can entirely throw you from that holiday mode. As exciting as the idea of a beach vacation might be, one needs to pour some planning in to experience the best beach holiday ever. Packing for the trip

Most people tend to overlook the types and the number of clothing articles they should pack when getting ready for a beach trip. Once you see the alluring white-sand beaches that are located close to many Pasikuda hotels in Sri Lanka, you wouldn't be able to wait until you change into your bathing suit. Run towards that oncoming wave if you must! If you get soaked, the extra clothes in your bag will have you covered during the journey back home. Also, don't forget to pack some comfortable flip flops and reef shoes to keep your feet safe when you explore each nook and corner of the beach. Think of all that skin that would be exposed to the sun when you sunbathe later on the beach. You surely wouldn't want to ruin your beach trip with a painful sunburn, would you? So don't forget to pack that essential sunscreen that's at least above 15 SPF to protect your skin from being overexposed to the sun. Getting that tan is good, but it wouldn't show if you turn a nasty shade of pink from that sunburn. Moreover, pack hats, sunglasses, and a colourful beach sarong to cover-up in case the heat gets unbearable, or else, you can opt for a beach umbrella as well. Also, you should remember to bring a towel or a beach chair on which you can relax without getting sand all over you. Among other things, you shouldn't forget to pack some waterproof bags to stash your valuables and a first-aid kit to use in case of emergencies.

Plan some beach activities

If you're coming over to the beachside with a group of friends, it's not going to be one of those times when you can just close your eyes and immerse in total relaxation. You may have to bring some activities such as board games, in which all can participate. However, if kids are in the equation, make sure you bring toy buckets, shovels, and other beach toys to keep them occupied. Music is also an excellent way of keeping people entertained. However, if you're going solo, take some light reading to enjoy on your own. A good few hours on

the beach would make you want to consider taking some snacks and refreshing drinks. Whatever you take to the beach should be brought back with you, so make sure that you take a small bag to collect all your trash.

Buying a bathing suit

When looking for that perfect bathing suit that compliments your figure, there are several things you need to follow. If a particular bathing suit doesn't make you feel comfortable even if it flatters your body, you should keep looking because ultimately, what matters is your comfort. If women aren't comfortable with a two-piece, then they can opt for a bikini bottom, but with a tank top. Men can go for anything from swim briefs to lengthy trunk shorts, depending on how comfortable they are with them. Whatever you choose, make sure that you wear the bathing suit and move around the fit-on room at the store to ensure that it doesn't bunch up and stays put in all the right places. Also, if you're vacationing in beaches in Sri Lanka, possibly at properties like Maalu Maalu Resorts & Spas, you need to respect the culture of the country by decently covering yourself in public places. Therefore, when you walk down from the beach, a cover-up would be a convenient way of covering your body.

Get your body beach-ready

To make your skin look extra-glowy, you can use an exfoliating scrub the day before going on a beach holiday. After shaving, exfoliate away to remove those layers of dead skin so that your skin doesn't look ashy or rough. Make sure that you apply a gentle moisturiser to keep your skin hydrated. If you want to flaunt your body in that super-gorgeous bathing suit, try to avoid sugary drinks and snacks that would make your stomach bloated. Instead, opt for healthy food like avocados, nuts, and greek yoghurt during the days that lead up to the beach vacation.
