How to make sure your kids enjoy their trip to Hong Kong

A city that brims with a myriad of attractions, Hong Kong in China is an ideal destination for a family holiday. Known for its status as a city with a relatively low crime rate along with its mind blowing infrastructure, and ease of travel have made it a perfect getaway for a family with young kids. Here are some suggestions on planning a family vacation to Hong Kong that your kids can enjoy.

Day one

On the first day, you can tag your kids along to the Victoria Peak to marvel at the panoramic vistas of the surroundings. To reach the peak, you can get on the Peak Tram and soar towards the summit. From there, you and your kids can enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire city, including the Victoria Harbour, the sea that is located off the west coast, and the islands that lie far away from the dots that they appear as tiny blobs on the sea. Your kids would totally love these magnificent views up from this peak. Later on, the whole family can have lunch at one of the restaurants that can be found in the Peak Tower. After lunch, you can visit Aberdeen for an enthralling ride on a fishing boat. A fishing village of the past, Aberdeen still preserves some of its ancient charms and you can see some of the local fishermen carrying on about their day to day lives. The kids would be excited to get on the traditional fishing boat called a Sampan for an evening full of interesting activities. After a fabulous and indirectly educational journey on the fishing boat, you can head out to enjoy a delectable seafood dinner in many restaurants of 4-star hotels in Hong Kong the likes of Park Hotel Hong Kong. The salty air of the sea is enough to spark a hunger in anyone, especially the kids. Later on, you can hang out at the Victoria Harbour waiting for a performance called a Symphony of Lights, which your kids would love to see.

Day two

The second day of the trip would be ideal for a day in Hong Kong Disneyland or Ocean Park Hong Kong. You can choose one depending on the interests of your children and your budget. If the kids opt for Disneyland, they can enter their dreamland with its magical kingdom which is inspired by fairy tales. They can even explore seven different lands including the Adventure land. Mystic Point, Toy Story Land, and others filled with fun, excitement, and life-sized Disney characters. If the kids opt for the Ocean Park in Hong Kong, they can have a fabulous day by viewing animal exhibitions and engaging in thrilling rides at its amusement park. It wouldn't matter which one you choose as long as you spend time with your kids and enjoy it as a family.

Day three

On the final day, why not board the Star Ferry and sail to Kowloon! At this place, you can expect to visit both the Hong Kong Science Museum and Hong Kong Space Museum, which lie just ten minutes apart from each other. Spending about two hours in one place would let you and your kids have one of the most enchantingly educational experiences ever. It is possible to visit these in the morning. The afternoon would present you with an array of options. You can either stay in Kowloon to have a splendid shopping experience in Tsim Sha Tsui or you can return to Hong Kong Island to visit Tai Yuen Street. Kids would just love the latter option as this street specialises in toys. Your kids can browse through the toys at this street among other interesting things to their heart's content. Even you might find some interesting trinkets from your childhood, you never know!

Tips for a smooth vacation

Planning a trip to Hong Kong by yourself sounds fun. But when travelling with children you should be more cautious about the overall safety and aware of any hazards that might come your way, especially in an unknown country. Therefore, it is better to look up services where they offer local travel guides at your service. A travel guide would have excellent insider tips and would know what they are doing, thus travelling with a travel guide will ensure that you have a smooth vacation with your kids, leaving more time for you to focus on how you can make this vacation an exciting time for your children.
