Protect them from the sun

It's not only adults who feel the burn of sunscreen, babies feel it too as their tender skin is extra sensitive. This calls for sunscreen, obviously, but not just any sunscreen – baby-friendly sunscreen is what you need to look for. You can use sunscreen on babies over 6 months but remember to stay away from spray-on lotion or powder. Instead, find a lotion that has titanium or zinc for better protection from UVA and UVB rays. A sunscreen stick is one of the best options for babies to make sure that sunscreen does not get into their eyes. If your baby happens to get sunscreen in the eyes immediately wipe it off the eyes and hands with a wet cloth.

Prepare some shade

If you frequently go to the beach, then it's best to just get an outdoor canopy or a 10 x 10 EZ that can provide shade to the entire family. The kids have enough play area as well under the shade. The whole family can enjoy some shade with this investment. Don't worry about the fact that you only got one that fits in the grass, it works well on the sand as well even on an extra breezy day. If you have a small family, then one of the best options is and a less expensive one too is the umbrella. You could get a medium cost umbrella where just the 3 or four of you can enjoy the shade without an issue. There is another quite handy option that is compact and easy to handle, a baby tent. The best part about this is that a floor comes with the tent. So, your baby will not have to sleep on the sand and seashells.

Baby's swimwear

If your baby can move about a little, then get him/her some cute swimwear. Look for a sun shirt that covers a lot of skin with at least 50 SPF protection from the heat. Also, a little stylish swimsuit for your little girl could lift her mood as well. make it as fashionable as possible so she enjoys it. A sunhat could do a world of good when it comes to protecting babies as well. Make sure the hat fits well and isn't loose so that the baby will not be able to pull it off. A sunhat with a chin strap will be your best choice in this case. If your baby can walk and can do beach activities, remember to get some water shoes so that sharp broken shells will not hurt him/her.

Sandy toys for the tots

Small kids tend to want to put everything they touch in their mouths, especially if it feels unfamiliar. Sand and seashells are plenty unfamiliar when It comes to a little one's mind, therefore, be cautious about leaving them unattended in the sand even for a second. The best way to keep them distracted is to bring along a few beach toys for them to play with. Try to get an appropriate size so that they will be able to safely enjoy themselves in the shade. Look into websites like Sandy Beach Trips if you are searching for more tips for a smooth beach holiday.
