How to plan a day out in Singapore's Bustling Neighbourhood Farrer Park

Being a quaint little area in Singapore, Farrer Park is often overlooked by many tourists who visit Singapore. Getting There

You can get to Farrer Park either by Singapore’s MRT system or by bus. There are several lines and routes that have stops nearby this area. The bus routes that run closer to Farrer Park are 131, 147, and 21. Also, Downtown Line and North-East Line will take you closer to Farrer Park as well.

Morning

Start your day by treating yourselves to some local delicacies in Pek Kio Market and Food Centre. Enjoying a hearty breakfast at one of the many long-standing restaurants is a must! Although some of the prices might come across as a bit outrageous, you wouldn't be able to say no to a prawn noodle dish with creamy broth and jumbo-sized prawns! Not a big seafood fan? A pleasant five-minute stroll from Pek Kio Market and Food Centre will bring you to Little India; a must-see tourist attraction in Singapore. Explore the bustling nooks and corners of Little India, especially the diverse array of markets which sell everything that you'd ever imagine. For as much as $5, you can get a Henna tattoo that would make your hand look quite oriental. You can also visit charming temples such as Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple which depict ornate décor of Hindu origins.

Afternoon

As the stomachs start rumbling towards noon, head over to Tyrwhitt Road for a mouthwatering lunch at one of the fancy eateries or the hawker centre you'd come across, along the way. Step into The Tiramisu Hero for dessert and revel in its delightful Tiramisu flavours, which comes in ten varieties. You can even capture that perfect click with one of the adorable cat figurines at this restaurant. It's a great place to meet like-minded people and a novel experience which would help you to relax and unwind to your heart's content. It is rather conveniently located next to the MRT station, for the journey back home.
